I am having a wander over to the Llichwedd Copper mine on the upper bank of the South side of Snowdon on Sunday the 27th June .....
Start time is 10:00am at the entrance to the Watkin Path.
Expect the walk to the mine entrance to take 1.5 hours and it is very steep in places.
The mine consists of one main adit with a number of open cuts on the mountain immediately above. I have already seen all these and they are not adits
per se leaving just the bottom (and main) adit unexplored. I don't expect it will be vast but I am expecting it to be very "pretty".
There is water at the entrance (i would guess) to roughly wellie height so, to prevent getting your walking boots wet, bring some old trainers, wet boots etc. that you can stick in your rucksack and change into upon arrival.
Bring lunch.
Bring a lid and a lamp.
If the weather is bad I will cancel ......
Everyone is welcome if you fancy a good walk up the south flank of Snowdon and a quick peep inside a mine
