Directions
A toughie to find – it is marked on the O/S map as a quarry and it is located near Dinas Mawddwy, Mid-Wales. You can park right next to it but you need to drive along forest tracks (no gates).
Access
All ungated, no known permissions required
Suggested Equipment
15 foot rope or electron (with a sling) to enter the quarry where the mine is.
Length
A couple of large chambers and two adits.
Flood Risk
The lowest adit is flooded almost to the ceiling but it can be avoided by entering the mine through the quarry. The other adit has water to above knee height and is unlikely to go higher unless the lowest adit becomes totally blocked.

Description
Enter the quarry through a short tunnel visible from the forest track on your left and use a rope/ladder to drop down to the open quarry floor.
You will see a huge entrance to your left – this has a high adit visible at the rear and a low adit at the bottom. The lower adit leads to a scramble up to the high ledge (no need to climb it).
To the left of this huge chamber (in the quarry) is a small hole leading down to a flooded adit which takes you to a super huge chamber with equipment in situ (see piccies). This chamber can be accessed from the quarry floor without using this wet adit using another entrance which is very obvious.
There is another flooded adit within the chamber which is the lowest adit leading to the old tramway but this is flooded to almost ceiling height.
