Easter Egg Hunt

Subject: Easter Egg Hunt Tue 30 Mar 2010, 8:58 am

Apparently at this time of year (Good Friday - Easter Monday) many Easter eggs magically appear in caves and mines throughout North Wales!

Does anyone fancy a day trip, purely for scientific research ( and to get my out of some painting )

Well it depends on what sort of chocolate you like

Caves are generally better for Milk Chocolate

Mines for Dark and Light chocolate is extremely rare in any cave or mine.

I haven't got any plans, would just like to do something new, you have probably got a better idea for what you want to do. What about Cwmorthin ?

I am currently free any day so choose a day best for you.

Cwmorthin is a "can do" ....

There is a dry trip and a wet round trip (wet to above knees) - either can be done.

Friday I could do and Sunday I could use an excuse to do. Monday is free but is the last day of the weekend.

The ball is back in your court Jonh AND anyone else fancy a mooch in Cwmorthin ?

I think I read somewhere that it is possible to do both the wet and dry and a round trip

Monday it is ....

The round trip is WET but you could spend a full day in there and not get wet if you avoided the single adit of water .....

What time do you want to meet ?

(and presumably at the Cwmorthin car park ?)

Meet time is set for 10:00am at the car park at Cwmorthin.

If you want to come you can just turn up .... if you aren't sure where the car park is please just ask on here (or PM me) and I will be happy to give directions.

(There are currently 5 on the trip and you will get wet to thigh depth as you exit ...)

Bring some lunch and a drink (flask?).

Hi Mike, meeting bernies cafe then a day practicing aerial bondage on a wall somewhere staying over at the YSS hut Sleep

then a full day under ground(don't know which hole-but one not too far from Ingleton I guess) if I survive unscathed I'm off out to Portugal to do some work on my mates farm so I won't be out to play for a week or two..but hope to meet up with you guys when I get back Wink

Will be about on Monday. Think I'm either going to go to Rhiw bach or cwmorthin with SpeedyCaver. May see you all in Cwmorthin.

The plan was for me to go and see the new ground on level H. However, the water level is now back to the usual level (possibly for good) so that trip wont be taking place. Unless of course we find underwater breathing apparatus.

Great trip with myself, Dave from Norfolk, John (Thanks for driving!), Trystan and Frank "the surf" ....

We located EIGHT easter eggs in the bowels of Cwmorthin and had a fab day.

Yes, seriously, we found EIGHT ..... I have put a link to another site here as I am trying to find out who left them there ...

It appears who ever planted the eggs in the mine, did not want to take their rubbish home as I found this empty box in the bottom of my rucksack!!!
